Axis introduces tool for easier management of multiple network video devices

Axis Communications, the global leader in IP-Surveillance, announced today the AXIS Camera Management application, a powerful tool to make the installation and management of Axis network video products easier and more productive. It allows users to perform sequential or simultaneous firmware upgrades for multiple network video products and can be scaled to handle hundreds of Axis network cameras and video servers.

AXIS Camera Management enables users to locate Axis video products on the network, set IP addresses, show whether devices are reachable and sequentially or simultaneously perform multiple firmware upgrades. Axis will make components of this tool available to the Application Development Partners this week, enabling them to integrate their applications to offer similar functionality.

Dominic Bruning, managing director of Axis Communications (UK) Limited, commented:

“The introduction of this tool is in response to market demand and represents an ideal installation and management tool. Axis products are now being used in some very large installations. The Axis Camera Management application will help larger companies to simplify the process of installation, upgrading and management of IP-surveillance systems.”

The Axis Camera Management tool uses the http or https protocol for firmware upgrades and setting IP addresses. It uses standard network protocols and is fully compliant with most Axis video products in the 200 series including the AXIS 206W, AXIS 206M, AXIS 210, AXIS 211 and AXIS 211A.

AXIS Camera Management is available immediately for download from http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/cam_mgmt_software/index.htm
