Axis strengthens UK team with appointment of business development manager
Axis Communications, the leading IP-surveillance vendor, has boosted its UK team with the appointment of Nick Platt-Higgins as UK business development manager. Platt-Higgins will be responsible for developing the business within the CCTV and IT integrator communities.
Other areas of responsibility will include extending both the Axis Channel Partner Programme and the Axis Academy initiative designed to educate new integrators and installers about IP-Surveillance. The Axis Academy was launched last month following a successful eight month trial in Ireland and the UK.
Platt-Higgins brings with him a wealth of experience in the security market having previously held a number of senior positions in the CCTV industry, including UK sales manager of control equipment specialist Dedicated Micros and a number of years at global installer and manufacturer Sensormatic.
Summing up this new role, Platt-Higgins said:
“Studies by both IMS Research and Frost & Sullivan have estimated the growth of the IP-Surveillance market at between 30-40 per cent per year, whilst JP Freeman believes that in just two years time (2007) sales of network cameras will begin to exceed those of traditional analogue CCTV cameras.
“In my direct experience the CCTV market has dropped off from 30 per cent growth per annum a few years ago to just eight per cent last year as IP-Surveillance technologies begin to enter mainstream market adoption. I am very excited about joining the established leader of the IP-surveillance market at the point where it is set for explosive growth.”
Dominic Bruning, managing director of Axis Communications (UK) Limited, added:
“Nick’s experience is a great asset to our expanding UK team. By maintaining close working relationships with our partners he will ensure that we continue to be a driving force in the IP-surveillance market.”
