AXIS tcpmon Upgrade Utility

AXIS tcpmon Upgrade Utility is a script that aids Windows in recognizing Axis print server ports (e.g. the USB port).

Once installed on your computer, the script upgrades the tcpmon.ini file (in the system32 directory) to add the new Axis print server ports to the Available ports list in the Add Printer Wizard. It will not affect any other information.

The old tcpmon.ini will be saved as tcpmon.ini_bak in the same directory.  You have to be logged in as the administrator to use this program.

1. Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 - Go to Start | Printers and Faxes and click the Add a Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard. Click Next.
Windows 2000 - Go to Start | Settings | Printers and click the Add Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard. Click Next.

In the wizard, select Local Printer attached to this computer.
Make sure the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box is not checked. Click Next.

2. Click the Create a New Port radio button and select Standard TCP/IP Port from the list.  Click Next and the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard starts. Click Next.
