Installing Axis OfficeBasic USB/Parallel Print Servers in Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003

In the Select a Printer Port window, click the Create a new port radio button and select Standard TCP/IP Port from the list. 

Click Next and the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard starts. 
Click Next.  

In the Add Port window, enter the IP address of the print server in the Printer Name or IP Address field
(Example: 192.168.3.191). 

The Port Name will be filled in automatically when you enter the IP address. 
Optionally, add the port you want to use as a suffix:

  • For AXIS OfficeBasic USB: write _USB1
    (Example: 192.168.3.191_USB1) 

  • For AXIS OfficeBasic Parallel: write _LPT1
    (Example: 192.168.3.191_LPT1) 

Click Next

In the Additional Port Information Required window, choose the Device Port you want to use: you will see LPT1 in a drop-down menu. If you want the USB port to appear as an option in the Device Port drop-down list, you must install software: click here

Otherwise, install the usb port as a parallel port:

  • Choose LPT1 for AXIS OfficeBasic USB 

  • Choose LPT1 for AXIS OfficeBasic Parallel 

Click Next

Click Finish
