Installing Axis OfficeBasic USB/Parallel Print Servers in Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003

Follow these instructions  to add a network printer to a client workstation.

Step 1 of 4

Notes:

  • Make sure your print server is properly connected and that it has a valid IP address before you start. See the User's Manual for information on how to do this. 

  • Windows XP Professional is described in this example. 

  • The IP addresses, drivers, printers, etc. used here are examples only. Make sure you use the specific values that apply to your configuration. 

Windows XP:
Go to Start | (Settings) | Printers and Faxes and click the Add a Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard. 
Click Next.

Windows XP Home Edition:
Choose Start | Control Panel | Printers and Faxes | Add a Printer to start the Windows Add Printer Wizard. 

Windows 2000:
Go to Start | Settings | Printers and click the Add Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard. 
Click Next. 

Select Local Printer connected to this computer
Make sure the 'Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer' check box is NOT checked. 
Click Next.

Now continue to Step 2
