A: It is not possible to print a test-page on a CAPT printer.
You can print a test page from AXIS 1650 by connecting it to a none CAPT
(PCL or Bubblejet) printer and pressing the test button.

Q: I get 'DEP error' when I try to print on Windows XP
SP2, what should I do? |
A: You must turn off Data
Execution Prevention (DEP) for the specific program which
causes the DEP error. Follow the instructions below to disable
the DEP function for the program that concerns printing:
To turn Data Execution Prevention off for a program you must
be logged on as administrator or member of the Administrators
group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is
connected to a network, network policy settings might also
prevent you from completing this procedure.
1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and
then double-click System, this will open the System
Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab and, under Performance, click
Settings.
3. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
4. In the 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except
those I select' list, do one of the following:
To turn off DEP for a program, select the check box next
to the program name and click OK.
If the name of the program doesn't appear in the list,
click Add, navigate to your Program Files folder, select the
program's executable file which will have an .exe file
extension, and click OK.

The message “Printer not responding” is shown by the Canon Status Monitor
for Canon BJ printers and BJ based MFPs. Why? |
It is not possible to network the Canon
Status Monitor application for Canon BJ printers and BJ based MFPs,
so to avoid the erroneous “Printer not responding” message shown by the Canon Status Monitor (the message is shown although it is possible to print), please disable the connection status reporting under Options.

Q: What will happen if I don't configure WINS properly? |
| A: Having WINS enabled but not
correctly configured could cause a memory leak and eventually
a Network Connection Error. The WINS parameter should either
be disabled or, if enabled, it should be configured with a
