Why do I get "media failed" when showing live images in AXIS Camera Station?
There are several reasons for getting the media failed warning when showing live images:
Network limitations. For some reasons the connection is lost to the cameras. Please check:
You have the required bandwidth available
Using latest drivers and software for switches, network adaptors etc
Have the latest firmware installed in the cameras
Limitations in graphics adaptors.
The graphics adaptor must have at least 256 Mb dedicated memory available and it is highly recommended to use separate graphics adaptors not sharing memory with the CPU as this could introduce some limitations in performance. Also make sure that your graphics adaptor is DirectX 9.0C compatible and Windows Vista compliant.
Performance limitations on the camera / encoder side.
AXIS video products differ in their encoding performance, please check what maximum framerate is specified in the data sheet for your product for the used video format. As AXIS Camera Station will request separate video streams for recording and each client connection make sure that the added framerate does not exceed your products encoding performance.
One way to increase performance in AXIS Camera Station is to use the same video format, compression and resolution for all requested video streams.
