Axis Network Cameras and Video Encoders

Axis video products are mainly tested with Internet Explorer 9 on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008. Other browsers and operating systems may show limitations in functionality. Different viewer options and known limitations are displayed in the table below.

Safari uses Java Applet viewer by default for products running firmware version 4.30 and the AXIS 207.

Server Push Default Motion JPEG viewer in these browsers

The video stream will stop after some time although a high performance computer may show the video stream for more than 12 hours before it stops. Refresh the Web browser to restart the video stream. 

When leaving the live view page, the browser may not close the image stream properly. Restart the browser to solve this problem.

Default viewer for MPEG-4 and H.264 streaming in these browsers.

* Axis video products are mainly tested with Internet Explorer 9 on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008.

** QuickTime needs to be installed on the computer. Viewing MPEG-4 or H.264 streams using the QuickTime Plug-in requires Axis firmware version 4.22 or later for the AXIS 207 and 4.30 or later for other Axis products supporting MPEG-4 and/or H.264. This viewer cannot be used on Linux OS.

*** Java Applet requires JVM (J2SE) 1.5 or later, or JRE (J2SE) 5.0 or later
Configures Video Motion Detection (VMD) - applies to the AXIS 207 and products running firmware version 4.30 or later.

**** Applies to products with support for G.711 µ-law audio and running firmware 4.30 or later.
