AXIS Camera Application Platform
AXIS Camera Application Platform is an open application platform that enables development of
third party applications that can be downloaded and installed on Axis network cameras and
video encoders.
The platform makes it possible for integrators, resellers and end users to meet specific needs by selecting the most suitable applications for their Axis network video products.
The open application platform creates unique possibilities to meet specific end user needs,
by enabling download of third-party applications to Axis network cameras and encoders.
The
AXIS Camera Application Platform consists of four components:
- Software Development Kit (SDK) for development of embedded applications. The SDK package includes compiler system, APIs to access on-board device functionality, documentation, example code and a debugger and profiler tool.
- Open application platform, which will be implemented in the majority of Axis network video products to allow download of compatible applications.
- Compatibility tool to guarantee the functionality of the Axis network cameras and video encoders.
Compatible applications will be listed on the Axis web site. - Optional copy protection tool to ensure that all applications in an
installation are properly licensed.
Develop Axis-compatible applications
Companies interested in developing applications can sign up for the Axis Application Development Partner (ADP) program. As a development partner you get access to the components listed above, and your Axis-compatible applications will be listed on the Axis web site.
