COM Port Redirector Software

Many applications require local serial ports for their function and will not work with a networked serial port, which is what you will have with the AXIS 2490 Serial Server. To make the AXIS 2490 ports appear to your application as if they were local ports, you must install and use additional software - a COM Port Redirector. This software allows programs (especially older ones) that use Windows serial port drivers to be used over the network. The application itself runs as usual, without modifications.
