The Fire Prevention Center in the city of Shen Zhen, China, sought to find a mobile video solution that would enable it to remotely assess conditions at any fire location in real time in order to provide timely and proper support to on-site firefighters.
Some firefighters at every fire station in Shen Zhen now wearhelmets that are equipped with a tiny camera (from Shenzhen Xiyi Technology) and an AXIS 250SMPEG-2 Video Server.
The AXIS 250SMPEG-2 Video Servers would wirelessly transmit live, MPEG-2 video images from a fire site to the Fire Prevention Center via a microwave network or WLAN. (More than 140 AXIS 250S units have been supplied to ShenZhen's fire stations.)
The Fire Prevention Center can now receive live, high quality, streaming video and audio from any fire-fighting location. The solution enables the general commander to provide quicker and rational feedback to the fire site. In addition, the video and audiocan be recorded in real time onto the computer's hard disk, providing valuable information for future investigation and analysis.
With the combination of AXIS 250S MPEG-2 Video Server and Xiyi's wireless products, new applications have arisen. Now you can take AXIS 250SMPEG-2 Video Server and Xiyi's tiny cameras with you wherever you go. And you can always send the video images to any destination through a wireless, microwave network or WLAN. If the distance is far away, the transmission problem can still be solved by microwave connection technology. Thus, a set of mobile and flexible, wireless video solution is born.
