Range (Johnson criteria)

CloseRange (Johnson criteria)

Range (Johnson criteria)
Examples showing a person and a vehicle at resolutions for detection, recognition and identification according to the Johnson criteria.

For detection, the Johnson criteria corresponds to a resolution of 2px/m for a person and 0.7px/m for a vehicle. Johnson's criteria assumes ideal conditions. To avoid performance and reliability problems always test the camera in the actual environment where it is going to be used.
