And the winners in August and September are:
September
G R
Country: Canada
Company: Wenco
Story: I am looking to use it for monitoring a fueling truck at an open pit mine. The camera would be connected to an ethernet port on our onboard dispatch system, and the signal would be available over a wireless network to the office users. Primary purpose it monitor for fuel theft.
Joseph Marotta
Country: United States of America
Company: Konsortum1
Story: As consultants to many large architect firms in southern California, over the last year we`ve received many requests to specifiy and design IP network camera solutions for many large projects. Typically, we provide the architects and their clients with product cut sheets and brochures of 1 or 2 systems that we`ve seen at expo`s or conventions.
Having active cameras connected to our company LAN would allow the clients to remotely access a camera and `experience` the camera`s quality and features first hand. This ability would quickly move the process of product selection and approval, and give everyone the comfort of knowing they made a wise choice. This makes the architect look good, the consultant look good, and the end user very happy. As an added benefit, we can also use this as an additional security measure within our offices.
Martin Schwind
Country: Sweden
Company: Outokumpu
Story: I would use it for monitoring and documenting what is actually going on in our production lines during service. In a modern steel mill parts of the production facilities are inaccessible during service for safety reasons, yet others can not be continuously monitored manually due to high cost. Failure of equipment may therefore not be discovered immediately, which results in unnecessary scrapping of substandard products. Continuous automated monitoring of critical equipment and product quality would help to identify mechanisms of failure and reduce the amount of defective products.
Jozsef Geczi
Country: Hungary
Company: Fjordin Kft.
Story: We are running for already more then ten years a small wholesale company specialized for seafood and gourmet food supply of hotels/restaurants/catering in the capital of our country.
In the near future, beginning of next year we will move in a new cool storage, where we will have to monitor our storage facility, the indoor and outdoor ramp and the entrance area day and night.
The cameras from Axis are known as one of the bests on the market. Good quality and solidity are the biggest difference to other net cameras for me.
Network cameras seems to be a better solution than the traditional wired security cameras, which are hard to manage, and there is no possibility for remote monitoring, or only for lot of money.
August Andre Bruton
Country: South Africa
Company: FSN
Story: Traffic monitoring in a suburb of Johannesburg where crime has increased. Want to monitor all traffic entering and leaving the area. Will have a wireless network connected to the central server. Looking for a camera to test and develop a system. Once working will rollout to other areas affected by crime
Vladas Shukevichus
Country: Latvia
Company: R.Evolution
Story: Cameras will be installed on moving advertisement hoarding trailers (more then 100 vehicles). Camera data will be sent to central streaming server using 3G/UMTS router from where legal customers who owns certain advertisements will be able to perform live monitoring of service. We are interested in outside cameras for different weather conditions which will be useful on moving platforms. That`s why we choose Axis as a leader in network cameras which provides absolutely satisfactory image quality and other technical conditions for our specific requirements.
