With Axis-compatible applications you can meet specific end user needs by adding functionality to your Axis network video products. Typical applications include intelligent video applications that provide the cameras and encoders with capabilities based on e.g. recognition, tracking, detection and counting.
The applications can be downloaded and installed on all Axis products with support for AXIS Camera Application Platform.
How does it work
The applications are developed by Axis’ application development partners and are ready to be embedded in the camera or encoder. Placing the application directly in the product – "at the edge" – helps to build more cost-effective surveillance systems. Note: The first compatible application available is AXIS Cross Line Detection, released in December 2009. Moving forward, the number of applications is expected to increase significantly, as Axis will implement the open application platform in a majority of its products during 2010.
