Supported printers
In general, Axis print servers support all networkable
printers. All printers that use internal computing capacity for generating
printouts (i.e. that do not rely on a host computer's processor) can be networked.
This is how printers normally operate.
Printer types
with limited support:
- Host-based printers
Host-based printers, typically low-cost printers aimed for personal use,
are using printing technologies (GDI, CAPT and PPA) that make them impossible to network - unless specially adopted drivers are used. Axis general purpose print servers do not support this type of
printers.
More information.
- Multi Functional Printers
In most cases, Axis print servers support printing but not scanning in Multi Functional Printers (MFP:s).
