Document handling: User scenarios
Why waste time and money couriering, faxing
or mailing a document when you can simply digitize it and
instantly distribute it over a network to many people for quick
and easy receipt, access, storage and edit possibilities?
 |
Is there a way to get the data into an electronic storage
without having to process the handwritten records?
CASE:
A scheduled stock inventory has created inventory
protocols on paper. All the data has to be processed into the
inventory computer system for further analysis.
SOLUTION:
With an Axis document server connected to a scanner device, you
can scan and send all the inventory protocols to a server for later
processing. With an optional OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
program, you can automate some of the data reporting.
(OCR refers to a computer process that analyzes a scanned image to
find text and creates a text file for further editing. OCR software is
available for office PCs in a wide range of price and with various
features and quality; for example, Adobe Acrobat Capture. Most OCR
software is capable of recognizing several text fonts and sizes,
international characters and rotated text with a very high accuracy.
Handwritten text usually presents a problem.)

licenses at easy access in case of supplier complaints

You want to make complaints to a supplier for faulty goods. Where
are all the documents related to this purchase?
SOLUTION:
With an AXIS 70U Network Document Server attached to a
scanner device, you can make it a rule to always scan all transport
documents and orders, and
store them electronically on a nearby PC. Then you will always
have easy access to digital copies, regardless of where the
original paper documents are stored.
