Video Management am Point of Sale
Video systems have many different commercial applications. For example, they do not merely increase the security but they can also contribute to optimise business processes and improve added value. SeeTec helps to understand the requirements and as such provides support using the appropriate tools.
Thefts, till fraud and shrinkage are easier to reveal and, in general, can be significantly reduced by implementing video management. The SeeTec POS interface connects the SeeTec video system with checkout or ERP systems, offering a transaction specific search for certain booking criteria (e.g. display all void receipts or reversal postings). This way, especially till fraud, can be quickly and effectively detected and even averted.
Furthermore, video can also be used to optimise routes and product placements – and thus increase sales. The SeeTec Counting Suite counts how many people are passing by at certain points in the shop or when they are entering or leaving defined areas. The data so obtained can be displayed in SeeTec or can be transferred to special data mining applications by means of database access. This provides valuable information about how customers move about in the shop and will allow for optimising the placement and presentation of the product assortment, thus exploiting additional revenue potentials.
Safeguards to protect the privacy of customers and employees (e.g. defining private areas that are hidden from the camera or the "four-eye-principle") facilitate the acceptance of the surveillance solution.
The leader in real-time store monitoring, RetailNext provides brick-and-mortar retailers with concrete information about what shoppers do inside their stores and how they react to the decisions these retailers make. The company uses best-in-class video analytics, on-shelf sensors, point-of-sale systems, and other sources to automatically inform retailers about how shoppers engage with their stores—providing operations executives with the insights needed to grow same-store sales by 20% or more. RetailNext tracks more than 400 million shoppers per year by collecting data from more than 20,000 sensors in stores, capturing and analyzing trillions of data points annually.
More than fifty retail chains use RetailNext to improve the bottom line by increasing sales, reducing theft, cutting costs, and creating a better shopping experience. By replacing multiple point solutions with a single, integrated in-store analytics platform, RetailNext customers save capital expenditure costs and reduce their maintenance overhead for systems in their stores.
