Axis network camerasThe Axis family of network cameras are built to offer high image quality. The main components to be considered in this chain of quality are; Lenses Here the light enters into the iris opening and is transferred to the sensor. The quality of the lens is of great importance in order to create a correct representation of reality. Read more: Sensors The area where the light rays are converted to electrical charges. If the sensor is light sensitive, it recreates images more efficiently and reduces noise. The sensor area is covered by a color mask, that helps convert electrical charges into color tones. There are mainly two different sensor technologies used in Axis cameras CCD and CMOS.

It takes the raw data from the sensor and assembles it in correct color space or bitmap structure. In doing so, it handles white balance, brightness, sharpness ,contrast and noise levels.
