ASSA ABLOY, Axis Communications and Securitas Systems to co-operate on a research program with Lund University within the field of Security Informatics.

The four-year Security Informatics research program encompasses new business models for open systems, the management of organization networks and alliances, and identification of future customer requirements. In particular, it will contribute to the development of methodologies and tools to enable analysts and researchers to better understand future markets and services within the security industry.

“Our markets are driven by technology development and by global customers demanding new types of IT-based security and surveillance solutions. If we want to continue to grow and stay in the forefront it is important that we get the best understanding of what direction our industry is moving”, said the three sponsoring companies. “We strongly believe that the research team at Lund University will help us to create that understanding.”
“The convergence of Information, Communication and Security Technology will generate new kinds of security services. This sector is one of the most exciting new industry formations, and we are delighted to lead this research together with three of the most interesting players in the business”, said Associate Professors Thomas Kalling and Konrad Tollmar from the School of Economics and Management at Lund University who will head the research program.
