Axis launches print plug for trouble free wireless printing

Axis Communications today presented its new print server AXIS 5810 that considerably simplifies everyday work for mobile users. The product uses Bluetooth(TM)* technology for wireless communication, thus enabling fast and easy printing from any printer for any mobile user

The new wireless print server opens up a range of new possibilities for mobile users travelling or working in- as well as outside their usual network. When connected to the printer AXIS 5810 is instantly available for wireless printing without any need to log on to the fixed network.

Printing from AXIS 5810 connected printers is handled exactly like other network printouts. The user searches for new printers through the bundled software AXIS Wireless Printing Utilities, the only required driver for this solution. Apart from the print plug the user just needs a PC card that supports Bluetooth Software Suite. AXIS 5810 can also be used together with Toshiba's new portable computers with built-in support for Bluetooth and with Ericsson's Bluetooth equipped mobile phones.

AXIS 5810 will be available from the beginning of March at a recommended price of Euro 199.

*Bluetooth is a trademark owned by BluetoothSIG, Inc. and used by Axis Communications under license.
