Axis secures break-through in chip sales

Axis Communications has signed a contract with the American data storage company Corporate Systems Center for its ETRAX 100LX processor. The order value is approximately USD 200,000 (SEK 2 million) annually.

Corporate Systems Center manufactures digital telephone logging systems for organizations, such as emergency and air traffic coordination centers and stockbrokers, which need a secure method of documenting telephone calls.

"Axis' system-on-chip solution has all the functions that are important to us integrated in a single chip. The high level of integration was a deciding factor, and the ability to run a native 2.4 Linux kernel was a strong bonus,' says Martin Bodo, CEO of Corporate Systems Center.

Axis launched the ETRAX 100LX in November 2000. It is the sixth generation of chip in the Axis ETRAX family The ETRAX platform is already used as a base in most of Axis' own solutions and is included in more than a million products.

About ETRAX 100LX
The ETRAX 100LX includes components specifically designed for running embedded Linux. It includes fully featured I/O, such as 10/100 Mbit Ethernet MAC, 4 serial ports, 2 parallel ports, 2 USB ports, 4 IDE ports and a Wide SCSI controller.
