March 12, 2001
By making the new AXIS 5800 Mobile network print server available for purchase this March, Axis Communications is first to deliver a pioneering solution for wireless printing. A prototype of the AXIS 5800 Mobile was first shown this past summer and is now a Bluetooth certified product.
The AXIS 5800 Mobile enables instant wireless printing to any standard printer using Bluetooth wireless technology. Mobile professionals can now wirelessly print documents from their laptop or print information stored in their mobile phone without having to access their network. This simplifies the task of printing last-minute information while on the move in offices, conference rooms, receptions, etc. The AXIS 5800 Mobile can also be used as a conventional LAN print server and offers the latest features utilized in Axis other new print servers.
Significant interest has been shown for this product, as demonstrated by a sales agreement made between Axis andCanon Corporation's Japanese sales organization that was announced earlier this year. The AXIS 5800 Mobile will be shown during CeBIT (Hall 11, stand G62) in Hanover, Germany from March 22-28.
