"In our research, Axis Communications was the most recognized network camera brand among integrators and resellers," said Joe Freeman, president and CEO of J.P. Freeman. "Interest in the network video market continues to be strong and has increased significantly in the past year. We expect that Axis will continue to lead the market with its innovative cutting edge network video technology."
The J.P. Freeman research also estimates that network camera sales will exceed those of analog cameras by 2007 and that network camera sales will more than double those of analog camera sales in the network video market by 2008. Approximately 25 percent of security users in the U.S. currently use network cameras, while 45 percent have plans to buy the technology.
"In 1996, Axis was the first company to launch a network camera," said Ray Mauritsson, President of Axis Communications. "Since that time, we have led the growth and development in this area through our commitment to innovation, market education and consistent performance."
