Axis wins product innovation award

Axis Communications, the market leader in network video, announced today that the AXIS 2460 Network DVR (Digital Video Recorder) has won a prestigious award. CCTV resellers and installers in the U.K. voted for Axis in the Premier Awards 2003, in the Product Innovation category. The award was announced during the world’s leading security show IfSEC in Birmingham.

The AXIS 2460 is a revolutionary DVR surveillance product offering small businesses a self-maintained standalone system, enabling organizations to build intelligent, globally distributed video storage systems that are viewed, controlled and managed from anywhere in the world. The product is used in retail chains, transportation companies and utility companies to provide a heightened level of security from remote monitoring and surveillance systems.

The AXIS 2460 enables prioritized, secure image storage with simultaneous live viewing, playback and recording capabilities from up to four analog cameras. While CCTV systems require an extensive amount of cabling and maintenance, the AXIS 2460 works directly from existing network infrastructure and records high-quality video to built in hard disks.
